SERIOUSLY's HEART Tour with a Cause

SERIOUSLY's HEART Tour kicks off its concert tour with a mission to help the Asian American Bone Marrow Donor programs nationally. Check your schedules for UC Irvine, UC Berkeley, Stanford, UC San Diego, UC Davis, and the Asian Cultural Festival in New York, and Georgetown University, Vascon 4, Marriott Connvention Center.

AsianConnections' is proud to be a media sponsor for LA-based pop/alternative/rock band SERIOUSLY for its national HEART Tour from April 5 to April 25.

Together, we can make a difference. Enjoy the concert and show support for this hot music band, which just so happens to be led by Asian American talent, and also help save some lives at the same time.

The HEART Tour's goal is to sign up 2,000 people to help increase awareness about fatal blood diseases and the urgent need to increase the number of potential bone donors in the APA community.

Come out and enjoy the performances with pop/alternative/rock band featuring Chris Pham (19) Vocals and Acoustic Guitar, Nathan Park (19) on Electric Guitar, Joshua Baek (22) on Bass, and Philip Park (19) on Drums.

The four formed their band when they met at a local Asian church near their hometown community of Diamond Bar, California. SERIOUSLY competed in KOLLABORATION, an Asian American talent show in Los Angeles and won the grand prize which included $1,200 in cash and the opportunity to record with music publisher and distributor

Revv up for the American feature film debut of Pop superstar Rain in Speed Racer

Revv up for the American feature film debut of Pop superstar Rain in Speed Racer which opens in theatres and IMAX on Friday, May 9. Rain portrays Taejo Togokahn, a rival driver of Speed Racer played by Emile Hirsch (Into the Wild ). Christina Ricci (The Opposite of Sex ) is Speed's girlfriend Trixie; John Goodman (The Big Lebowski ) and Oscar winner Susan Sarandon (Dead Man Walking ) are Pops Racer and Mom Racer; Matthew Fox (TV's Lost ) is Racer X; Roger Allam (The Queen , V for Vendetta ) is Royalton; Paulie Litt (TV's Hope & Faith ) is Spritle; Benno Frmann (The Mutant Chronicles ) is Inspector Detector; Hiroyuki Sanada (The Last Samurai ) as Mr. Musha; Richard Roundtree (TV's Heroes , Shaft ) is Ben Burns; and Kick Gurry (Daltry Calhoun ) is Sparky.

The live-action Speed Racer is based on the classic series created by anime pioneer Tatsui Yoshida and showcases the kind of revolutionary visual effects and cutting-edge storytelling that have become benchmarks of the Wachowski brothers' films.

"Speed Racer" is a Warner Bros. Pictures presentation, in association with Village Roadshow Pictures, of a Silver Pictures Production, in association with Anarchos Productions.

Today, Arthur Dong's Hollywood Chinese opens at Laemmle's Music Hall in L.A, at Laemmle's One Colorado in Pasadena and at The ImaginAsian Theater in New York. Meet the filmmaker at tonight's 7:40 pm screening at Laemmle's Music Hall in L.A or tomorrow at the 7:40pm screening at Laemmle's One Colorado in Pasadena.

Hot off its month-long extended San Francisco run and international film festival tour, including Toronto and a Best Documentary win at Taipei's Golden Horse Awards, the Chinese equivalent to the Oscars, Hollywood Chinese is a "delightfully entertaining" (FilmFestivals.com) look at the Chinese in American movies. Featuring a virtual who's who of top Chinese and Chinese American film artists, including Ang Lee, Joan Chen, Wayne Wang, Nancy Kwan, James Hong, Lisa Lu, B.D. Wong, Tsai Chin and writers Amy Tan and David Henry Hwang. Also featuring Luise Rainer, Turhan Bey and Christopher Lee.
